The Covid protocols brought many challenges to the music room, including not being able to sing or touch ech other. My go-to alternative was a "say-hum" process (see Gameplan video above) for songs, and to speak lyrics rather sing during dance. Take a peek at this song and dance for Eid. We learned the words, hummed the melody, then focused on the dance while I spoke the words to the music.
Learn the song line by line, raise hands slowly, add clap on 'heart and 'gir'l.
"Light up your house, let your heart be joyful, eid ka din hey!
Forget the past, every girl and boy will celebrate today.
We will have sehwey, creamy and sweet, eid ke din hey.
Good things to drink and good things to eat, eid ka din hey.
Light up your house, let your heart be joyful, eid ke din hey."
Directions:
Starting formation - circle, all facing center. Walk towards enter, raising hands slowly above heads, clap on 'heart'. Walk backways to return to place by "hey". Repeat with second line, clap in center on "girl", then return,
'Sehwey hands' - 'screw the lighbulb' in the ceiling with right hand, 'screw the lightbulb' in the floor with left hand while turning 360 degrees on the spot. One leg stays straight ('wooden peg'), the other is on the tippy toe, pressing up and down, circling around the straight leg.
