Diwali, or the Festival of Lights, is the largest annual celebration in India. The children loved dancing with diwas, singing Diwali is Here with tinkling bells and finger cymbals, and asking questions about our virtual trip to India to learn about Diwali traditions. Here’s what we did:
Lesson 1
1. Introduction to Diwali using collected visuals and short descriptions of selected traditions.
2.You tube Video on Diwali by National Geographic. Stop and start to highlight points: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrrW3rO51ak

Lesson 2
4. Share a book on Diwali via You tube. e.g. Dipal's Diwali: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aSkESrxXs4
5. Diwali is Here. Song with instruments (finger cymbals, triangles, bells), using visuals and sound track.
